In 2023, at the age of twenty-four, James was appointed Director of Music and Organist of Truro Cathedral, becoming the youngest cathedral organist in the country.

Shiraz are an a cappella quintet singing their own arrangements of popular songs and The Night Herons are a local 4-piece band playing original jazz, funk, folk and pop, led by vocalist Rachel Holmes.
